Our Story: Back to Our Roots
Backwoods Music Festival is Oklahoma’s original community-driven music and arts event. Since its founding, the festival has celebrated independent musicians, local artists, and the spirit of giving back. In 2027, we return to Oklahoma to lay the foundation for our 20th year reunion, with all proceeds benefiting a federally recognized non-profit.

Festival Roots
A Tradition of Music, Art, and Community
Founded by Trevor Lane and a small group of entertainers in 2008, Backwoods began as a gathering of friends and musicians.
What started as a primitive, grass roots movement, turned into an international event.
Backwoods is a beloved Oklahoma tradition, uniting people through music, arts, and a shared sense of purpose.

Giving Back
Philanthropy at Our Core
The non profit partnership ensures every ticket, every vendor, and every moment at Backwoods supports youth, musicians, art, entertainment, and community.
Our philanthropic mission is what sets us apart.
