A Community-Driven Music Experience
Backwoods Music Festival is blazing a trail that carries the soul of a community that refused to let a good thing die. After the 2024 cancellation left a noticeable void in the festival world and independent music scene, fans, artists, and organizers rallied around the idea that Backwoods was more than a festival.
Backwoods is a cultural engine for creativity, connection, and impact. Its revitalization in 2026 for the relaunch in 2027 marks a comeback and return to its founding purpose, aligning with the founders’ renewed commitment to bring Backwoods “back to its roots” in Oklahoma and rebuild it as a driven experience where original music, art, and philanthropy work hand in hand.
With proceeds once again supporting a federally recognized non-profit, the festival’s comeback isn’t just about music. This time it’s about strengthening youth, artists, and rural communities. The energy feels like a rebirth: a chance for independent music and indie fans to help shape a festival that grows the place it calls home.
